Afghanistan-Iran relations in Karzai Era

On September 11, 2001; after the terrorist attacks on Washington and New York cities of the United States, the military action initiated by U.S. and also target ing to stabilize the country and to establish democracy in the country; began after the fall of the Taliban regime has increased Afghanistan?s geo-strategic importance.After 2001, the developments in the Afghan administration, has carried an important position the relations between Iran and Afghanistan. Dueto the increase of the importance of this matter, "Afghanistan-Iran Relations in Karzai Era" has been handled.The aim of the study is to examine Afghanistan-Iran Relations in the era of Hamid Karzai, Afghan President and also the changes and developments in Afghanistan management, in the period after 2001.In this study based on this purpose, first of all the factors that determine the relations between Iran and Afghanistan were discussed. In this context, historical, cultural, ideological, economic, security and external factors were discussed in sub-titles. Then, in the period before Karzai, Afghanistan-Iran relations were discussed in a historical perspective. Lastly Afghanistan-Iran relations in Karzai era were discussed by taking in to consideration. the different dimensions (political, security, military, economic, cultural)
