Abstract (EN)
The training of teachers employes a very important place for renewing and improving the educational system of country. When the history of Turkish education is scrunitized, on 16th March 1848 the first school of teachers which is called ?Darülmûallimin? was opened, in order to provide teachers for the secondary schools (?Rüşdiye?) within the context of renewal attempts in terms of education during Tanzimat Period. Within 159 years time, that is from 16th March 1848 up till our time, it is known that new school of teachers have been opened for every single educational level by taking the expectations and the requirements of the society and the age into consideration, and it is also known that techniques to train teachers have been developed. In this study, while determining the outlines of training teachers for primary schools, Kastamonu The Primary Female School of Teachers, Kastamonu Female School of Teachers, Kastamonu Educational Institute, and Kastamonu Educational High School have been studied. These schools are scrunitized in terms of their goals, management and training activities. The reason why these schools have been found, the physical structure, the student and the lecturer profiles, teaching programmes and cultural activities of these schools have been depicted and in the end, it has been found out that the educational programme, the staff and physical structures of these schools, which have 165 lecturers and have given 7016 graduates between the years of 1958 and 1994, are of great importance.
