Abstract (EN)

In Karadere Forest Enterprise for 1988-1997 period, 3409 ha of areas wereseparated as regeneration area. But, for the same period 3016 ha of this area weresuggested as regeneration area by the silviculture plans. 1121 ha of the practicedarea evaluated as successful. For 1999-2008 period, 1368 ha of areas wereseparated as regeneration area by management plans. But, in silviculture plans, 667ha of this area were suggested as regeneration area.Success control of the natural regeneration areas were done as to the classicmethod by Forest General Directorate. In classic method, the success wasdetermined numerically. But, in this method, the homogeny and heterogeniccharacters of the regeneration are not investigated. So, the same regeneration areacan be evaluated as heterogenic and unsuccessful by Zero- Area control method,in spite of the high success rate as 95% in classic method. So, the Zero-Area controlmethod should be used more reliable for determining the success of the naturalregeneration areas.Large proportion of the area separated as natural regeneration area in managementplans, were put out to the regeneration area. This was retard the regenerationrapidity. Separately, the private regeneration times keep on more lengthy asunsuitable for tree species than usual.Key words : Regeneration, Regeneration success, Zero-Area ControlMethod
