Özet (EN)

In this study, at first physical and geotechnical properties of solid wastes are mentioned. Then, slope stability analyzes are performed in solid waste landfill model. In the first part of the study, parameters that can affect slope stability (internal friction angle, cohesion, dilatation angle, modulus of elasticity, poisson ratio, unit weight and slope of the soil) are analyzed by finite element method. For the different values of these parameters, analyzes are performed with Plaxis v.8 package program. In the next stage, finite element analyzes are performed in geogrid reinforced solid waste. In the second part of the study, parameters that can affect slope stability (internal friction angle, cohesion, unit volume weight and slope of the soil) are analyzed by limit equilibrium method. For the different values of these parameters, analyzes are performed with Geostudio 2012 software. Later, for the optimum geogrid-equipped case that analyzed in the first stage, limit equilibrium analyzes are performed and the results of the two methods are compared. At the end of the study, in the analysis with finite element and limit equilibrium methods is showed that the internal friction angle, cohesion, unit weight and slope of the soil are effective on the stability of the solid waste. It has also been found that the stability can be significantly increased with the use of geogrid. In addition, the factor of safety in limit equilibrium analysis becomes higher than finite element analysis. Also analysis results and the necessary recommendations are presented.
