Stock management and allocation in the rubber industry: ZQ Polymer company case

Abstract (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to investigate the allocation implementation of ZQ Polymer company, which operates in rubber sector, whose production is highly dependent on imports. During the face-to-face meetings with the company officials, information was collected about the allocation application of the company. Within the scope of this research, annual production capacity of the firm, annual sales quantities of rubber products, past period sales data, sales performance of sales points, sales forecasts and results of the firm's allocation implementation were examined. It has been determined that the economic conditions of the country and the sector's situation, the amount of assurance stock saved for sales support and package shipment are taken into consideration in the product delivery of the company. The sales performance of the company's sales points is ranked from the best to the worst. Thus, it was possible to examine the product transfers between points of sale. As a result, it was observed that transfers from low performance sales point to sales points with good performance significantly increased the sales and profitability of the company.
