Özet (EN)
In this thesis study, energy and performance analyzes were made by applying parametric cycle equations to a turbofan engine, which is very similar to the V-2500 engine used in commercial aircraft. The main motivation of this system is to observe the polytropic efficiency of the fan, compressor and turbine in the S-V2500 engine and the pressures in the combustion chamber above performance parameters such as net thrust, specific fuel consumption, thermal efficiency and total efficiency. In the open literature, there are many studies on turbofan engine operating temperature values, turbine operating temperatures, compressor pressures and by-pass pressures. However, the effects of component yields on performance metrics are missing in this area. Another aim of this study is to reveal the difference between ideal and real success obtained from parametric cycle analysis. In addition, data on engine parameters of flight conditions were investigated for ideal and real conditions. For these analyses, thermodynamic and performance analyzes were developed for the S–V2500 engine in the MATLAB environment with special code. Additionally, major turbomachinery component polytropic efficiencies appear to have combined links to turbofan engine performance in both takeoff and cruise conditions. In other words, parametric analyzes were carried out at different differences and Mach values. Thus, the effects of flight conditions on the performance metrics of the S–V2500 engine were observed. On the other hand, parametric cycle equations for the S–V2500 engine have been analyzed for both ideal and real cases. Thus, it is aimed to help engineers decide on the engine options that may differ between ideal and real programming. As a result, it has been shown that if the compressor and turbine components with higher polytropic performance are obtained, the total performance of the turbofan engine, and therefore the sustainability of the performance, can be increased to a higher level compared to the initial characteristics.
