Abstract (EN)

Nowadays, welded joints are used in a lot of fields such as vehicles, industrial foundations, architectural buildings, railway bridges and pipelines. They must have some features that areexpected from themselves in order to serve in safety and with productivity in these fields. These features that can be called weld quality at all, can be related with mechanical, metallurgical, dimensional and exteriors of welded joints. Improving technology andincreasing international trade cause to be giving more and more importance to weld qualityday by day.In this study, how to be improved that weld quality and quality assurance during welding hasbeen studied. Firstly, the factors that affect weld quality were determined and than thecontrolling of these factors during welding was investigated. The automated non-destructivetesting systems that have been improved for the purpose of controlling the factors that affectweld quality during welding were researched. In the study of observation, the manufacturing of welded chassis of a bogie of the railwaycars that are used in freight transporting on the railways was observed. By controlling of theappropriateness of the parameters that are used for this manufacturing, there were given someadvices to develop the quality of welding and quality assurance.Consequently, the necessity of consideration of welding as a process and controlling of eachphase of this process in attention by a systematic controlling mechanism was determined. Keywords: Weld quality, quality assurance, weld parameters, quality control, visualinspection, automated NDT systems.
