Abstract (EN)
Keywords: Residual stress, Submerged arc welding, Vibration residual stress relief In this study, the effect of vibration stress relieving on residual stresses of samples of different thicknesses and different steel qualities produced by submerged arc welding has been investigated and interpreted as a result of the effect on yield strength, tensile strength, toughness and hardness values. Plates of different thickness and quality of S235, S355 and L415NE were produced by submerged arc welding method by giving spiral pipe form after surface preparation process. Two sets of samples were taken from each of the four pipes produced. Stress relieving process with vibration was applied to one set of the samples taken. The other set was left without process application. Test samples were prepared for experimental studies from samples with and without vibration stress relieving. Tensile test, toughness test and hardness tests were performed with the test samples obtained in laboratory studies. According to the findings obtained in the study, it was concluded that while vibration stress relieving decreases residual stress, it does not decrease yield strength, tensile strength, toughness and hardness values.
