Kayseri regional hand knitting (lisoz) cardigans

Handicrafts are cultural accumulations obtained from the lives of societies. We see the examples of cultural accumulation of civilizations that lived in many regions of Anatolia in our museums. Kayseri province is one of the important regions where cultural accumulation is intense. Lısoz cardigans, which are a part of hand knitting, which is a part of the cultural accumulation of the Kayseri region, are the subject of this research. The population of the study, the sample of the study in Kayseri province, consists of 54 lısoz sweaters in the city center of Kayseri. In order to determine the material, knitting tool, technique, motif, color and size characteristics of the cardigans, the products are recorded in the information forms. The demographic characteristics of the resource people living in the city center and the information about hand knitting were presented to the resource persons to determine the usage characteristics of the cardigans. Design products have been created in order to present touristic product samples that are aimed to find value in domestic and foreign tourism for cardigans. The percentages of the information obtained from the findings and interview forms are presented in tables. It has been determined that the yarn types used in cardigans are acrylic, cotton, mohair and silvery threads, and some cardigans use ribbons and buttons. It has been determined that crochet, needle and hairpin are used as knitting tools in cardigans and there are various techniques made with these tools. It was determined that symbolic, floral, geometric and figurative motifs were used. It has been observed that the colors of pink, blue, yellow, pinkish, cream, white, turquoise, dried rose, fuchsia, red and gray were used. It has been determined that the size of the cardigans varies depending on whether they are sleeves, sleeveless (cape cardigan), collar and collarless.
