Tourism potential of Kazakhstan and the examination of cultural tourism as a developable culture type

Abstract (EN)

Borders were removed through the effect of globalization and different cultures were recognized by the growth of the communication age. Consequently, tourism has become a quest of different alternatives. Considering the countries where the tourism sector is developed it is understood that the tourism resources are used effectively and the publicity is of an advanced nature. In order to develop tourism the Republic of Kazakhstan hosts ample natural, historical and cultural heritages that were not promoted until recently. However, the research carried out regarding this field was inadequate, hotel prices were high, and tourism sectors were not introduced. Therefore, the tourism was not developed enough and its name and its resources were not widely known within the World tourism market. The importance of this study is to evaluate the tourism value and resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to evaluate where the present state currently stands, to identify the expectations of the personnel of domestic institutions and organizations regarding knowledge of supply resources, and to make suggestions for improvements. The results of the study will contribute to the development of tourist attractions in the region, and to make and implement different projects. Regarding economy, the market could attract notice of local institutions and organizations which operate touristic actions at the region, the tourism experts, the foreign investors and the business people. This study is oriented towards specifying the potential of cultural tourism in Kazakhstan. In this study the opinions of the personnel of public enterprises of Kazakhstan who work within the field of tourism and the labour and management who work in the private market tourism sector were collated. Accordingly, it sets out how the points of view for cultural tourism in Kazakhstan is being affected by being a civil servant or a private sector employee, and if there are any distinctions between them. In addition to this it identifies how the present state which is a factor for the development of the cultural tourism of Kazakhstan is perceived by the participants. The content of this study consisted of 8195 people who work in the state governorships of Kazakhstan, travel agencies and 5-star hotels. The total sample numbers were distributed to the governorship, hotel and agencies proportionately. A poll was carried out of 1076 workers for this research. Regarding the study, a SWOT analysis was carried out that is oriented to the present state of culture tourism of Kazakhstan and its potential development. The Data was obtained during the quantitative implementation process of the research. Regarding this analysis the descriptive statistics, t test and ANOVA analysis were used. Considering the result of the research it is understood that there are differences formed according to the age, gender, marital status, income status, tourism education, institutions which they are affiliated to, their businesses, working hours regarding the opinions of the participants that are oriented to the present status of the tourism of Kazakhstan. Besides, regarding the opinions oriented to the potential development of the tourism of Kazakhstan there are no discrepancies formed according to the age, gender, marital status, education status, income status, tourism education, its businesses, working hours.
