Investigation of the relationship between sport for all awareness level and life quality level of university students in Kazakhstan and Turkey

Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to determine the Sport for All awareness and Quality of Life levels of Physical Education and Sport Sciences students studying in Kazakhstan and Turkey. For this purpose, survey model was used to describe the views of university students about the concept of sports for everyone and their level of quality of life. This study was designed according to the relational survey model, which is included in the survey model to determine whether there is covariance between two or more variables. The study sample included 689 university students from Kazakhstan and 701 university students from Turkey who are studying at faculties of sports sciences and colleges. Demographic information forms including age, gender, marital status and class level variables, Quality of Life scale, Sports for All questionnaire that was developed within the scope of the thesis and the Kazakh version of the Quality of Life scale that was first developed by B. Yermakhanov et al. (2021) were used for data collection. In order to determine which tests to use in the data analysis, normality tests were performed, and since the data were not normally distributed, non-parametric tests Mann Whitney-U, Kruskal Wallis-H and Spearman rank correlation coefficients were used in the data analysis. Based on the results of the study, it was determined that physical education and sports science students studying in Kazakhstan and Turkey had a high awareness of sports for everyone. The results showed that there were no significant differences in the variables of sports for everyone and age for each individual among students studying in Kazakhstan, while there were significant differences among students studying in Turkey between the ages of 18-20. Similarly, when assessed in terms of sports for everyone and gender, there were no significant differences found among students studying in Kazakhstan, but there were significant differences found among male students studying in Turkey. Considering the relationship between sports for everyone and variables of marital status, it can be said that getting married or having a relationship between students in the two countries increased everyone's awareness of sports. In addition, according to the results of the study, the quality of life of Physical Education and Sports Science students studying in Kazakhstan and Turkey were high. Considering the relationship between quality of life and gender, students in the two countries got different results. In the relationship between quality of life and age, it was concluded that people's expectations of quality of life increased with age. When examining the relationship between quality of life and marital status variables, it was concluded that being married or in a relationship increased students' motivation to pursue quality of life in both countries. In addition, a positive correlation was observed between the improvement of the quality of life levels and the awareness of sports for everyone. When the quality of life of students studying in Kazakhstan and Turkey was compared, it was determined that the quality of life of students studying in Turkey was higher than Kazakhstan than Kazakhstan.
