Abstract (EN)

In this study called "Evaluation on Kazan Tatar Riddles", the riddles belonging to Tatar Turks, living in Idyl-Ural Region and written out by compiling verbal tradition are analyzed in terms of shape, structure, content, function, creation and transmission. Text-based research method is used in the study. 2042 riddle texts chosen from the titles and subtitles of the work which includes 4072 riddle texts belonging to Kazan Tatar Turks are transcribed into Latin Alphabet and they are translated into Turkey Turkish. The purpose of this study is to show how the riddles, the products of verbal tradition have serviced cultural society and to contribute the future extensive studies about verbal cultural products of the Turkish world. By the help of this research, it is seen that the riddles told in Idyl-Ural Region, where we have been able to seee the marks of the Turkish dominance and culture since the ancient time, have the same source as the riddles told in Turkey in terms of shape, structure, content, function, creation and transmission tradition.
