Some physical and chemical properties of Tahar Stream flowing into Keban Dam Lake

In this study, some physical and chemical properties of Tahar Stream discharging into Keban Dam Lake were investigated. For this purpose, monthly-water samples were collected from Tahar Stream and measurements and analysis were conducted for a period of 12 months between January 2014 and December 2014. During the investigation, the water temperature, pH and dissolved oxygen concentration were determined by the measurements performed in the field whilst the values of the chemical parameters including total hardness, total alkalinity, organic matter, ammonium, chlorine, chemical oxygen demand (COD), nitrite, nitrate, sulphate, silica, total phosphorus, total nitrogen and ortho-phosphate were determined through analysis performed in the laboratory. The data obtained were statistically analysed for evaluation and the results were compared with those of similar studies conducted previously.
