Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to compare the post-operative analgesic effects of different combinations of analgesic and anesthetic agents used in the neutering procedure to prolong the healthy life span of cats. It is a surgery performed using cat ovariohysterectomy surgery. As a result of this operation, mild to moderate pain occurs in animals. The responses and behaviors of animals to pain vary. This requires responses and extensive observation. In order to compare the combinations of painkillers, the animals must be observed very well post-operatively. Pain is a necessity that must be treated. There are many pain relief agents for use before and after the prenatal operation. These painkillers can be used as a single sample or combined with a painting to achieve more effective results in their songs. The aim of the thesis study was to compare the postoperative pain effects of medetomidine, ketamine, isoflurane, meloxicam and medetomidine, butorphanol, isoflurane, meloxicam drug combinations in cats who underwent ovariohysterectomy operations. The study material consisted of healthy female cats (n=20) of different breeds and at least 6 months old, brought to Edrevet Veterinary Clinic for sterilization. By measuring the weight of the cats suitable for the operation, 80μg/kg of medetomidine was administered intramuscularly as a pre-anesthetic, and ketamine at a dose of 0.5mg/kg subcutaneously in the first group, and 0.4mg/kg subcutaneous butorphanol loading in the second group and induction of anesthesia (5%).) and its maintenance (2%) was done with inhalation anesthesia (isoflurane). The distance between the navel and the pubis was divided into three, and the operations in which an incision was made from the middle third of the region were staged. The pain dimensions between the groups after the operation were evaluated according to the "Colorado State University Cat Acute Pain Scale" by measuring the heart rate, respiratory rate and body temperature in the postoperative 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12. Pain scores and butorphanol findings were higher than the postoperative first and second ketamine groups. While the pulse and body temperatures were similar between the groups, the respiratory rates differed between the groups. The subcutaneous subanesthetic and analgesic dose of ketamine is more effective than the analgesic dose of butorphanol.
