Abstract (EN)
Ahmed Ibn-i Kemal Pasha, who was a prolific scholar in the most glorious period of the State-i Âliyye-i Osmaniyye; a linguist who has performed his duties as a muderris, mufti, kazasker, sheikh al-Islam, and has the ability to criticize even prominent language scholars such as Curcânî and ez-Zemahşeri; He is also an expert and has a say in the Islamic sciences. Although the scholarly personality of this scholar, who wrote many of his 209 works identified in total on various issues in Arabic, overpowered his literary personality, he is a valuable literary scholar and literary critic who grew up in the Ottoman Period. In this context, he wrote in all three of the elsine-i selase, and he carried out studies on rhetoric and Arabic language grammar, which can be called a revival movement in his time. The Ottoman science and idea basin has always kept alive the topics and discussions of linguistics and philosophy of language, which have changed and increased in value recently. As a matter of fact, the tradition of commentary-annotation, taliks, refutations, scientific debates are examples of these that have survived to the present day. Ahmed Ibn-i Kemal Pasha has valuable views on this subject. In the first part of this study, our author's life, duties, teachers, students, historiography, literature and works are mentioned in general and briefly. In the second part, the Ottoman period debates from the short history of rhetoric and the periods of literature are discussed in order to understand the position and importance of our author in history. In the third and last part, 27 of our author's separate epistles related to Arabic language and literature, the issues included, are examined in terms of language-style characteristics.
