Folklore and humor in Kemal Sunal's movies

Contemporary practices of folklore, have slowly leaving the text-centric viewpoint nowadays and have begun to take care on the knowledge of the values of tradition, on the point of, how they are involved in different enforcement enviroments. Traditional cultural products, which can preserve their existence in a continuous development, change and transformation like a living organism, can easily be adapted in the balances of technological structure, living standards and economic activities and with this situation, they can preserve their living areas. Today, it is possible to find traces of traditional cultural codes in many new enforcement environments. From the practices of transitional periods to folk beliefs, from ceremonies to traditional folk knowledges, many cultural products can join with that new different enforcement sizes. For example even in the computer and internet areas that we met with tecnological development, the cultural codes that we mentioned, can find new spaces as living areas. Cinema is a field where traditional cultural elements are processed and for these elements can be considered as a new representation place. For since it was discovered in the 19th century, cinema which is a relatively new area, has become a medium in which the details of cultural identity are also processed. Turkish cinema, especially the 60's national cinema debates and the goal of creation of a national cinema immediately afterwards and the socialist view of the Yeşilçam ensemble has been tended to cultural values with the goal to reflect traditional features. And it has been taken into consideration on, choosing the subjects, the places and the characters of the films of these periods. In this study, it was mentioned about Turkish cinema generally and especially was tried to determinate, analysis and comments of the folkloric elements of the movies of Kemal Sunal, who is known as the most important comedy artist of Turkish comedy cinema. And also, was tried to evaluated of the humor rhetoric of Sunal's movies on the point of laugh and humor perspectives. Keywords: Kemal Sunal, Folklore, Humor, Laugh, Tradition.
