Critical edition of Kamaladdin İbn Abu Sharif's supercommentary Hashiya Ala Sharh Al-nuhba

In the long historical development and enrichment of Islamic science, commentaries (Sharh) and supper-commentaries (hashiya) tradition has played a pivotal role. One of such activities is Abu Sharif's Super-commentary on Sharh al-Nuhba, a very distinguished work in hadith field. Since this is a super-commentary work on Ibn al-Hajar's al-Nuhba, it is necessary to introduce first the commentary text, Sharh al-Nuhba. This is because without proper understanding of the commentary text, one can not penetrate the supper-comments on it. Therefore we divided this study in there chapters. In the first chapter, the life of Ibn Hajar, one of the most prominent figure of hadith tradition, and his book Sharh al-Nuhba is studied in detail. In the second chapter, we give a brief account of Ibn Abu Sharif's life who studied with his master Ibn Hajar, his book Sharh al-Nuhba, the very text he commented on. We also made some remarks about the methodology employed in this critical edition. Finally in the third chapter, the critically edited text with explanatory notes (tahrij) is presented.
