A practice model proposal for the vocalization of teke region folk songs in violin teaching and its appearance in practice

In this study, it is purposed that to prepare the exercises in accordance with the techniques and principles in violin education in order to ensure that the Teke folk songs with local manners adapted to violin education can be performed correctly and effectively; to determine the effectiveness level of the prepared exercises in practice and to create a repertoire with the exercises for which the effectiveness level is determined. The research is in a descriptive model based on due diligence in one dimension, and in a single-group pretest-posttest trial model in the other dimension; It is based on a mixed pattern study. In the descriptive design of the research, data were obtained by scanning method from various sources in order to prepare the ground for the research and to create the literature. In the research, there are two folk songs of Teke region, 'Serenler Zeybeği' and 'Dirmilcikten Gider Yaylanın Yolu'. The folk songs were adapted for violin teaching within the scope of expert opinions and exercises were prepared for the can be vocalization of this adaptation. The exercises were determined according to the 'Content Analysis' to reveal the techniques in folk songs and were prepared in 4 categories under the headings of rhythmic structure, maqam structure, right hand techniques and left hand techniques by taking expert opinion. In order to determine the authenticity of the folk song arrangements and the consistency of the expert opinions on the effectiveness of the exercises, the Percent of Concordance/Agreement was examined. In order to determine the effectiveness of the prepared exercises, a total of 6 students selected from Gazi and Aksaray Universities according to certain criteria were included in the sample group. For the effectiveness of the exercises with 6 students determined, 4 lessons for each folk song, a total of 8 lessons were held with the 'Zoom Cloud Meetings' application online due to the pandemic in the 2020-2021 academic year. For the pre-test and post-test application, with the 'Performance Evaluation Scale', which was prepared within the scope of expert opinions, was taken from 5 violin experts opinion and the obtained opinions were analyzed with the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The harmony of the scores given by the violin experts was calculated with the Krippendorff's Alpha reliability coefficient. Regarding the features of the exercises, the right-handed techniques of Spiccato, Bound Spiccato, Staccato, Martele and Bound Staccato are shown on scales prepared according to certain characteristics, and for the left-handed Thirty-Two Note, Trill, Double Voice, Ornamentation and Position Changing techniques specific exercises are prepared; It was concluded that references were taken from various method books while these exercises were being prepared. According to the pre-test and post-test data obtained for the effectiveness of the exercises, it was concluded that all the exercises prepared for the maqam structure, rhythmic structure, right hand techniques and left hand techniques in the folk songs had a significant effect on the can be vocalization of the folk songs.
