Evaluation of hearing results and quality of life in patients with implanted bone-anchored hearing devices

Abstract (EN)

Aim: Hearing loss is one of the common diseases in all age groups. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the hearing results, quality of life, and hearing on patients who were using Implanted Bone-Anchored Hearing Devices. Materials and Methods: Patients aged 18 years and older who used Implanted Bone-Anchored Hearing Devices with conductive hearing loss were included in our study. We use IOI-HA-TR test for determination quality of life, HISQUI19 for sound quality assessment determine the functional gains of patients using Implanted Bone-Anchored Hearing Devices. Results: According to our findings, the functional gains of patients using Implanted Bone-Anchored Hearing Devices were statistically significant at 1000-2000-4000 Hz (p˂0.05). It was determined that patients using Implanted Bone-Anchored Hearing Devices were satisfied with their devices with IOI-HA-TR test, and the sound quality of the device was 93.33% very good and 6.66% good in the HISQUI19 test. Conclusions: Implanted Bone-Anchored Hearing Devices has increased the quality of life and satisfaction by providing functional gain in individuals with conductive hearing loss. In patients with conductive hearing loss, Implanted Bone-Anchored Hearing Devices has provided more functional gain than conventional hearing aids and has increased the quality of life more.
