Özet (EN)
This thesis experimentally investigates the impact of a jet on a rotating cylindrical surface. The effects of several important parameters on heat transfer were investigated, including nozzle geometry (circular, square, and triangular), jet-to-surface distance to hydraulic diameter ratio (H/Dh = 3, 6, and 9), Reynolds number (Re = 2000–7000), cylinder rotation speed (Ucr = 20, 40, 60 dev/dk ), and constant surface temperatures of the rotating cylinder (Ts = 45 °C, 60 °C, and 75 °C). The experimental design was based on the Taguchi experimental design method. The results showed that optimum operating conditions were achieved with the highest Reynolds number, high surface temperature, and high rotation speed combination. Verification tests demonstrated a high agreement between the predictions of the Taguchi-based experimental model and the actual results, indicating that the findings can be used as a reliable reference in the thermal management design of rotating machine elements. Keywords: Impinging jet, heated cylinder rotating around its own axis, cooling, nozzle,
