A study on the effectiveness of self leadership on job satisfaction and job autonomy

The concept of self-leadership represents the process of perspective at an individual level by influencing individuals to control their actions and thoughts. In an organizational sense, the goal of self-leadership is to direct individuals in the organization more effectively by implementing their own behavioral and cognitive strategies by learning to improve their own lives. The aim of this research is to determine whether employees' self-leadership style and the use of their strategies have an impact on their job satisfaction and job autonomy. Investigating the effects of demographic variables such as age, gender, educational status and duration of working on using self-leadership strategies is also included in the objectives of this study. For this purpose, a questionnaire was used as a data collection method, 230 employees working in health sector were reached and 200 staff (86,95%) were responded. Findings were obtained by applying correlation and regression analysis to the collected data. These findings suggested that there is a moderate relationship between the concept of self-leadership and job satisfaction and it is not related to job autonomy, but the use of self-leadership strategies has an impact on job satisfaction and job autonomy and finally there is no significant relationship between demographic characteristics such as age, gender, educational status and duration of working and the use of self-leadership strategies.
