The epic of Kenesarı-Navrızbay (Investigation-Translation-Text- Index)

In this doctorate study, the epic "Kenesarı-Navrızbay", which was once sung by Ozan (jirauw) Nisanbay, one of the products of "oral literature" of Kazakh Turks, was examined. The author of the epic, Nisanbay Jamanqululi, is not only a famous poet, but also a person who participated in and supported the Kenesari movement. He was involved in the events. He evaluated the events in his work impartially. It is possible to find lines emphasizing the weaknesses of the Kazakhs and the determination of the Kyrgyz. The subject of the epic is a part of the independence struggle that spread to the whole nation under the leadership of Sultan Kenesary Kasımov in 1838-1848. It was written just after the struggle ended in defeat. It covers the last period of the national independence movement that lasted for ten years, namely Kenesary Khan's struggle against the Kyrgyz. In the first part of the study, the situations that caused the quarrel of the two brotherly peoples, the political games of the dominant power of the period, the political games of the Tsarist Russia were briefly mentioned and the diplomatic relations of the period were mentioned. In this way, it is aimed to understand the epic as a whole with its period. After general information about the work such as the copies of the epic and its genre, the epic was transcribed and transferred to Turkey Turkish. Finally, the grammatical index of the epic was extracted. In addition to the basic and connotative meanings of the words, their origins, the language from which they were taken, and the meaning differences between ET and today's Kazakh Turkish are shown on the index. A comparative language analysis was also made with the language data obtained from the index. In the sound information section; Vowels and consonants were examined in general terms. /ç/ > /ş/; /ş/> /s/; distinctive features such as /y-/ > /j-/ were evaluated according to their occurrence at the beginning, middle and end of words, whether they were regular or not, and whether they were foreign or Turkish. In the nouns and verbs section, the characteristics of Kazakh Turkish are presented with the epic and equivalent examples in historical sources such as Orhun Monuments, DLT, KB, CC.
