Determination of the precaution location that increases in a city way traffic safety by GIS

Nowadays traffic is one of the major problems in Istanbul . Increase in population, crookedand unplanned urbanization, insufficient substructure, rapidly increasing vehicle population,disordered authority, lack in coordination and unable to gather the control mechanismsincrease the problem. Also not taking the enough precautions for the traffic accidents causemore problems. Especially authorities in related istitutions don?t have enough domination intheir territory. In this study GIS is sugested as a solution. As we know, GIS is a computerbased system that collects informations about every object or event takes place around theearth, upgrades these infos, analyzes and gather these as a chart in the end. With GIStechnology we can create databases for any purposal reasons.The purpose of this study is to determine the precautions for the accidents take place in citylimits in GIS environment. With the use of GIS we can take the right precautions that couldpossibly prevent the accidents that threaten the traffic and the community. This precautionswill be based on the GIS usage.
