Abstract (EN)
This study aimed to develop main plan of pedestrian areas of Adana City with determining individual and collective free time actions, the usage probability of available pedestrian areas, the tendency and demand of people for pedestrian areas. The eight routes that determined according to this objective were utilized with the help of 10 criterions that reveal total suitability level. According to evaluation results the total suitability score of options have a range of 36-17 (the highest score for a route is 69). The plan proposal for organization and design of pedestrian area that is the final outcome of this study includes a pedestrian arrival net which is 5790 meter long. In this study three different pedestrian area/road were proposed according to the features of road wideness, road widen probability (the use type and nationalization necessity of road surround) and road vehicle usage density.
