Abstract (EN)
Multiple exposure technique, one of the forms of expression that incorporates the technical and aesthetic aspects of the art of photography, has been the subject of both art and science throughout history. Just after the invention of photography, the composite photography technique, which emerged with experiments and artistic concerns in this field, soon became a form of expression. In the process report titled "Photographing City and Urbanization Phenomena by Multiple Exposure Technique", the concepts of city and multiple exposure are discussed. In the first part of the process report, the concepts of city and urbanization are defined and they are examined starting from their dates. Understanding these concepts that the main subject of the thesis in the historical process is important to understand the current process. In this context, the point where the history of the city and urbanization as well as the points come today and in the future will reach the concept discussed, sampled with photographs and concepts in the latter part of the first part of Turkey and Izmir were treated in special. In the second part, the place that the concept of the city has placed in the art of photography is examined, after the history of the photography is emphasized, the city photographs from the 20th century to the present are discussed with the example studies. In the third chapter, the concept of composite photography is explained and after the historical process, composite works on urban photography are discussed together with the artists who produced them. Finally, the actual subject of the process report was shown and the report was punctuated. As a result of all these researches and determinations, it was determined that the concept of composite photography and the concepts of the city were intertwined and the similarity of the effects of modern times and urban life on the artists was observed. Although the production methods in the digital field are very close, the results are shown to be different.
