Abstract (EN)
As a result of transformations experienced, masses that have migrated to the urban from rural areas gave rise to lots of problems in cities of Turkey that were not able to complete their urbanization process. One of the foremost of these issues is the problem of acclimatization of those who have moved to the urban through migration. The term acclimatization refers to a period that is expected to happen before integration. Adaptation of those who migrate to the city with different cultural identities and the conciliation of these differences significantly in order to ensure migrants? cohabitation is a prerequisite for acclimatization to the urban. Local political authorities should have goals of utmost importance in regard to the ensure acclimatization of these aforementioned groups. Local politics? taking an active part in the solution to the problems of those who migrate to the urban is an expected situation. However, when the dead ends of local politics in Turkey considered, this expectation does not seem to be fulfilled in the near future.
