Those who migrated to the urban migration urbanity councious: The case of Kaynartepe Meighborhood

Urbanization in our country, especially appeared in the 1945s, which accelerated in the 1990s has a non-healthy urbanization feature without there is no regular urbanization as a result of industrialization. This situation causes many problems continuing from the past to the present day in our towns and it is situation of a major trouble Source. Especialy in cities that have been heavily immigrated, have arisen many social problems. Along with these problems, the urban culture and urbanism that the city needs most are being damaged, and this situation seriously affects the future of the cities. The Urban consciousness, the most general sense individuals can say themselves belonging to the city, ownership of the city, awareness of their responsibility towards the city, awareness of urban values, participation in urban institutions. The Urban consciousness has gained importance in the solution of urban problems. In this study, immigrated individuals which were resided in Kaynartepe quarter of Bağlar district of Diyarbakır has aimed to determine socio-economic and demographic factors which affect urban consciousness and individual's urban-awareness levels. In the study have examined the effects on urban awareness of variables such as income level, age, marital status, gender, education level, residence time and place of birth. The survey which consist of 44 questions to participant that consist of 200 people among Individuals of Kaynartepe district had applied by face to face interview method and with it had interviewed In-depth interviews with 9 person. The data, which was obtained by the questionnaire study, had been evaluated by SPSS 24 packet program. According to the results, The Urban consciousness levels of those who come with migrate are low.
