Evaluation of user perception in urban transformation in İstanbul Kağıthane Case

EVALUATION OF USER PERCEPTION IN URBAN TRANSFORMATION IN ISTANBUL KAĞITHANE CASE People started to live in urban life since they came to the collective and settled life. The cities were formed randomly and formed by irregular structures. Skewed construction, the existence of structures that do not comply with regulations, the nature of natural disaster etc. elements have made urban transformation mandatory over time. The main purpose of urban transformation is to turn cities into more qualified living spaces and to increase the quality of urban life. Spacious, clean streets and streets, easily accessible education and health buildings, green spaces associated with each other and the city, homogeneously dispersed, residential areas with adequate and healthy living conditions are the necessary qualities and facilities to increase the quality of urban life. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the user perception in urban transformation through the Istanbul Kağıthane sample. The population of the study consisted of 120 people in Istanbul province and in the Istanbul province of Kağıthane in urban transformation areas. The data of the study were collected by face to face interview method. The analysis of the study was done by SPSS package program. As a result of the study, it was observed that the perceptions of urban transformation did not change according to the gender of the participants and the perception of urban transformation increased with the increase in educational level. The vast majority of respondents perceive urban transformation as healthy structures, increased quality of life, earthquake resistant structures, gentrification and increase of property value.
