Since the existence of the human kind, the human challenged the nature. He made use of the nature in order to satisfy his requirements, but always seeking methods to be protected from threats within the nature. Emergence of cities is based on the fact that the human kind aim to challenge the external factors together, while first foundations of technology were laid as the human kind knew nature and what he could do. The cities appearing by the time and improving technology has transformed the world into an irreversible process.Along with industrialization, urban areas have become centers of attraction. Due to urbanization and harder living conditions in rural areas, the population in the cities increased by the time. Based on population increase, industrialization and technological improvements, the cities have undergone a constant change, and the urban life and outdoor spaces are influenced by such changes. The outdoor spaces are the most important components required for sustaining of people their physical and moral lives.In this study, the urban development of Eskisehir city in the historical process, employment of outdoor spaces in cities and their changes are searched. In the end, the physical, social and spatial changes undergone by cities in the time, and the positive and negative interactions of such changes are examined along with visual data.
