Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to determine an optimized trace metal combination on the biogas production from the organic fraction of municipal solid wastes by using an advanced statistical method (Plackett-Burman). In addition, process performance of a novel pilot scale dry digestion system was evaluated. The best trace element ccombinations which is obtained from Plackett Burman statistical analysis was tested in the dry digestion system. The results indicated that the trace element addition had positive effects on the biogas production during batch dry operations. TM supplementation also provided a positive impact in both methane content (enriched methane) and process time (shorter reaction time). It has been shown that TM supplementation can be used to overcome the long start up period and low methane productivity problems of dry AD processes.
