Measurement of service quality in urban recreation areas (Gaziantep example)

The increase in the number of immigrants to the city has led to the fact that the changing living conditions and the employment opportunities in the cities are excessive. With this increase in urban areas, recreational areas used by individuals to evaluate their leisure time have also increased in a direct proportion. The population of Gaziantep is constantly getting immigration due to its geographical location. Because of this, urban recreation areas in Gaziantep province are showing intense density. In this context, the main purpose of the research is to measure the quality of service by determining the difference between the expectations and perceptions of local people participating in the urban recreation areas in Gaziantep. This research was conducted on 835 local residents who participated in urban recreation areas in Gaziantep province in June, July and August of 2017. Explanatory factor and confirmatory factor analysis were applied to the questions included in the quality of service quality used in the research, and analyzes were carried out afterwards. As a result of the research, it was determined that the local people participating in the urban recreation areas are higher than the expectations of the perceptions. From this point of view, it can be said that the people are satisfied with the urban recreation areas in the province of Gaziantep. It was also found that there was a statistically significant difference between the expected and perceived quality of service of the participants and the educational status, the purpose of going and the possibility of transportation.
