Abstract (EN)
Cities are places where land use and human impact are the highest. Green spaces are organic systems that direct, limit, separate, function and combine other land uses within the urban fabric. The fact that cities can have an orderly and healthy environment and that the quality of life of the citizens increases depends on the distribution, size, functional and aesthetic qualities of green areas within the city. The accessibility of an urban green area includes a wide range of interactions between people and green areas. This interaction starts with visual access to green areas, includes the ease of access to these areas from a certain location, the ability to enter these areas freely and the actions of moving freely in these areas without being disturbed. In this study, the accessibility of parks located in a group of neighborhoods selected from the Muratpaşa district of Antalya province of Türkiye was addressed. Accessibility maps were created by using the Network Analysis Method, taking into account the distances from the selected parks as 100 m, 200 m, 300 m, 400 m and the 500 m ordered by the Planned Areas Zoning Regulation. The study also included a survey conducted with neighborhood residents who actively use parks, and park users were asked questions about green space preferences and access. The study results revealed problems with accessibility to urban green spaces. It was determined that even the accessibility standards stipulated by the zoning legislation were not met. It was concluded that a new perspective was needed on issues related to urban green spaces, especially green space planning and design; and that global climate change made this mandatory for cities.
