Abstract (EN)

COVID-19 is an It is the black death pandemic that caused the death of millions of people. The pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus/COVID-19, which has been initially reported in Wuhan, a city in the Hubei province in China, in December 2019, has become a major global health concern. In this study, a demographic study was conducted on 130 individuals clinical data were collected by the use of specific questionnaires including age, gender, BMI and any current chronic diseases. It was measured by IgM-IgG test for SARS-CoV-2, patients are classified into three severity levels depending on clinical manifestations: mild, moderate, and severe disease depending on pulmonary imaging. A haematological study was conducted for patients, the blood type was determined, the blood sugar was measured, and the smoking status was determined. The results showed that out of a total of 130 people, 41 (31.5%) persons were newly infected, 28 (21.5%) were with a previous infection, and 61 (46.9%) were uninfected. 30 (73.1%) patients showed symptoms of moderate infection, while 11(26.8%) patients had severe symptoms of Covid-19. From the demographic study that was conducted, where the following information was obtained: The average age of Covid-19 patients was between 18-84 years, the infection rate was higher in females than males, and the rates of smokers were lower than non-smokers. Diabetics were the largest percentage of those infected with Covid-19, while the O+ blood group, were the largest percentage among those infected. From this study, we conclude that there is a relationship between hematologic characteristics and Covid-19, as well as there is effect of certain demographic features on patients with Covid-19.
