Kirkuk's poet Cihat Demirci and poems

Hoyrat or Iraqi Turkmen Turkish and Hoyrat Iraqi Turkemen folk literature has an important place among oral products. From the value given to those who sing hoyrat among the Iraqi Turkmen people, it is understood how common the hoyrat is among the people. Iraqi Turkmens refer to people who sing hoyrat as hoyratists or poets. Due to the tradition of singing horyat, which is indispensable for entertainment ceremonies, well-known hoyratists in the region are invited to these ceremonies and they are highly respected. There are many important representatives of this tradition among the Turkmens in the region. Cihat Demirci, who passed away recently, is one of these personalities. Cihat Demirci, in his youth and after his military service, became interested in horyat with the influence of his environment and devoted his life to the tradition of singing hoyrat. His calm and pleasant style while singing hoyrat made him loved by the Iraqi Turkmen people. Cihat Demirci took care to speak the Self-Turkmen spoken in and around the region and to voice his hoyrats within this framework. Cihat Demirci, for whom it would be insufficient to describe only as a hoyratist, also wrote hoyrats and poems. Although the hoyrats he spoke belonged to him, he did not publish them. It is clear that the efforts of Cihat Demirci, who has a respected place among Iraqi Turkmen, for Iraqi Turkmen folk literature, set an important example for future generations to preserve their culture. In this study, the value of hoyrat, which is one of the Iraqi Turkmen Turkish oral products, was emphasized, based on the hoyratism of Cihat Demirci and the hoyrats he said.
