The problems of existence and man of Kierkegaard

The main idea of this study is the opinions of Sören Kierkegaard relating to the life of concrete and subjective human. Therefore, Kierkegaard?s opinions about existence are emphasized in the study. Kierkegaard, who developed original ideas about human nature, thinks that human creates his own ego by establishing relations. Hopelessness arises as a result of the relation established by oneself, where anxiety arises as a result of the relations established by the world. For Kierkegaard, human can realize his existence provided that he contacts with Supreme Being. Human who desires to establish amity relation with Supreme Being, firstly must know his limitations and possibilities. Human who is in despair notices his own limitation whereas human who is concerned notices his termination. As a consequence, human who feels these sensations, tries to form an ego by realizing his own reality. For this reason, human relations constitute most of the study. Because ego is a notion which connects human to himself, his environment and Supreme Being and which causes him to apprehend himself as a subjective fact. Thus, in the study notion of ego is examined according to its elements and its development is tried to be explained. Kierkegaard tried to show that how and by what human establish relations in the aesthetic, ethic and religious stages. If all the study is perused, I hope that questions of Kierkegaard?s opinions about which steps human should take in order to reach an ideal ego and how to make its existence meaningful will be answered.
