Abstract (EN)
Aggregates that are used for concrete production, form nearly 70-80 vol. % of concrete design. In aggregate composition that is used, the biggest portion belongs to crushed sand due to cost advantage. For this reason the level of clay of crushed sand, in addition to being one of the parameters that affects to quality of concrete, is an extremely important value in terms of creating admixture design for chemical admixture designers. It is very important to use proper chemical admixture for negativities occured beacuse of the high clay content aggregates. In this study, with using different clay content crushed sands, without chemical admixture concretes and with chemical admixture concretes were produced. Effects of clay on concretes were observed with investigating mechanical properties of produced concretes and chemical admixture was designed proper for negativities and the properties of these concretes were investigated. Clay contents were characterized with methylene blue test.
