Abstract (EN)

The structures where dynamic loads other than earthquake effects are most effective are industrial buildings. These structures are exposed to dynamic loads continuously and repeatedly. The dynamic loads due to operation of the machines are transmitted to the subsoil by the static loads of the machine and the supporting foundation, affecting the existing structure and the surrounding ground and the structures above it. Therefore, when analyzing the behavior of the machine-foundation-subsoil system, the dynamic properties of the subsoil and the surrounding soil should be thoroughly investigated. In this thesis, the effects of the foundations under machines with vertical harmonic excitation and pulse effect resting on clay soils of different stiffness on the subsoil and surrounding soil depending on dynamic soil parameters were investigated. For this purpose, field and laboratory tests were conducted at three sites with soil profile consisting of clay layers of different stiffness.
