Abstract (EN)
This thesis aims at evaluating the medieval churches to have been built within the Late Antique basilicas, thus referred by us as 'church-in-church' at such Lycian cities as Arycanda, Cyaneai, Patara, Sura and Xhanthos. The catalogue consists of eight late churches to have been constructed in the way that is mentioned above, along with the basilicas within which they were placed. The text tries to shed light on the development of the late religious edifices in terms of architectural characteristics, exact functions, the relationship with the basilicas, the locations within the town and dating. Keywords: Lycia, Late Antique Basilica, Medieval Church.
