Effects of chemical fertilizer and vermicompost applications on some agricultural properties and essential oil ratio of coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.)plant

EThis study was carried out to determine the effects of different combinations of chemical fertlizer and vermicompost on yield and essential oil ratio in coriander plant. The research was carried out in Diyarbakir province, Eğil district, located in the Southeastern Anatolia Region of Türkiye, in 2020. A total of 11 subjects, different combinations of chemical fertlizer and vermicompost, formed the subject of the study in the study, which was established with 4 repetitions according to the randomized blocks trial design. According to the results of the research, the effect of chemical fertilizer and vermicompost aplications on total branch number, thousand seed weight and essential oil ratio in coriander plant were statistically insignificant. It was determined that the applications had significant effects on plant height, first branch height, number of umbrels, number of seeds in the main umbrella, biological yield, harvest index, seed and essential oil yields at p<0.01 level. Vermicompost application alone had a significant effect on first branch height, number of seeds in the main umbrella and biological yield. Vermicompost application alone did not have a significant effect on the parameters According to the result, plant height, number of total branches, number of umbels, number of seeds in the main umbrella, biological yield, seed yield, harvest index, thousand fruit weight, essential oil rate and essential oil yield were changed between 24.8.0-37.3 cm, 3.65-4.78 number, 4.00-10.10 cm, 4.05-8.83 number/plant, 18.03-42.78 number/umbels, 1487.5-2550.0 kg/ha, 585.0-1413.0 kg/ha, 30.00-55.42%, 8.50-11.50 g, 0.12-0.14%, 0.074-0.188 L/ha respectively. It was concluded that chemical fertilizer and vermicompost applications in coriander cultivation increased yield and some yield criteria in semi-arid climatic conditions.
