Dr. . Hakkı ÇAĞATAY: Doç. Dr. Aleattin KILIÇ: Doç. Dr. Ergül YAŞARIn our country, concrete ınterlocking pavement blocks (CIPB) used asdecorative floor material are developing rapidly. The purpose of this study is toinvestigate mechanical properties of CIPB materials and to help development ofquality products for the sector. CIPB was produced by mixture of water, cement andaggregate. Therefore, ın the study aggregate granulometry, mixture ratios of differentgranulometric aggregate and water-cement ratios were examined. Among theresearch, CIBP was produced for each different granulometry of aggregate anddifferent water-cement mixtures. Geomechanical properties and ultrasonic velocitiesthe produce CIBP were determined. The geomechanical property tests includescompressive strenght, rolling strenght, Schmidt rebound hardness, Böhme abrassionindex which were made 3, 7, 28, 90 and 180 days curing periods. Microscopic andchemical analyses of the aggregates were also carried out. P wave velocity ofultrasounic properties was determined using Pundit machine. 0-5 mm, 5-10 mm and10-20 mm of aggregate granulometry was used ın the CIBP production. Optimumwater-cement ratio and optimum dosage was found as 32 and 300 respectively basedon results of engineering properties of CIBP. Optimum aggregate mixtures includingaggregate granulometry and quantity were examined using CIBP test results.Consequently, CIBP have good engineering properties, which show the higheststrenght, hardness and less abrassion were produced.Key words: Concrete Interlocking Pavement Blocks, Aggregate, Water-CementRatio, Ultrasonic Velocity, Mechanical PropertiesII
