The relationship between personality and cultural intelligence: A study on airline employees

With globallization shows impact at all areas, the cultural diversity of employees is increasing. International organisations needs cultural intelligence to manage these diversities and increase the efficiency of employees. In this research, the personal characteristics and the effect of those characteristics has been investigated. The main goal of this research is to examine the interactions of the employees from different cultures and the role of the personal characteristics at airways that bears multicultural structure. At this study, personality concept is approached with the main lines and dwelled on the factors that effect the personality. Effect of the aspect of cultural intelligence examined and the effects of the aspects to personality factor. The five-factor model of personality and cultural Intelligence scale survey was undertaken of all staff who work for the airlines the effects of cultural intelligence and personality traits were investigated. . Because of the experience of foreign pilots in different countries it seems to be higher than the domestic pilots of cultural intelligence. The survey's results; Due to the high extroverted aspects of airline personnel because of their experience with different cultures cultural intelligence levels were higher.
