Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to determine how personality traits of individuals working at five star hotels affect organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). Quantitative research method was chosen for this study. Fieldwork was done in staff's dwelling houses owned by hotel managements in Antalya Province Manavgat/Side, Manavgat/Kumköy and Alanya/Okurcalar tourism districts between July-October months in 2017. Survey Data was obtained by using face to face questionnaire and by answering the questions asked to workers method in aforementioned districts in staff dwelling houses. 397 count data -obtained from field work- was evaluated with the help of IBM SPSS 21 packaged software. Factor analysis was applied in the evaluation of data and then validity and reliability were determined. Following the factor analysis research findings were ranked. According to these findings %26,4 of participants were women and 73,6 were men. Additionally, it was seen that most of participants of this research had a sector experience between 0-6 years (%66, 8). Correlation analysis were performed in order to determine the relationships of research variables one another after data. As a result of this relationship, it was seen that extraversion personality trait had positive and significant relationshi with OCB's conscientiousness, civicvirtue, courtesy and altruism dimensions. Also, it was seen that agreeableness -one of the personality traits- had a significant connection with all OCB's dimensions. It was also determined that neuroticism-another personality trait- had a reverse direction significant connection with civicvirtueand courtesy of OCB dimensions. This situation would be interpreted so: the less emotional neuroticism of hotel personals come into being the more OCB performing levels come into being. When OCB relationship with conscientiousness and openness of personality traits is investigated; it is seen that worker's conscientiousness levels has a significant relation with OCB's conscientiousness, sportmanship, civic virtue, alturism and courtesy. Additionally and openness level has a relation with conscientiousness, civic virtue, courtesy and altruism of OCB. Multiple regression analyzes were applied in order to test research hypothesizes after correlation analysis. According to findings -obtained from these analyses- extraversion personality traits have effect on OCB's civic virtue and courtesy dimensions. Agreeableness personality traits have significant effect on civic virtue, conscientiousness, alturism and sportmanship. Additionally according to regression analyze results neuroticism dimension of personality traits have effect on sportmanship and alturism dimension, it hasn't any effect on other dimensions. This situation shows similarity with findings obtained from correlation analyze. When regression analyze results-personality traits' conscientiousness and openness dimension's effect on OCB- investigated it is confirmed that conscientiousness personality trait have significant effect on all OCB directions, also openness personality trait has a statistically significant effect on OCB's conscientiousness, civic virtue and altruism. In consideration of these results, it is seen that five star hotel worker's personality traits are effective on OCB performing level. Accordingly, it is thought that these findings obtained from this research would be beneficial for both personality traits literature and OCB literature and also it is thought that these studies has the quality that would contribute to studies that would be performed on hotel managements.
