Representation of nature from classical art to present

The historical process of art has been divided into three sections in this study which examines the representation of nature in art. These three periods, in which the course of art has changed greatly, are depicted as Renaissance, Baroque and Contemporary Art Movements. The representation of nature actually starts long before the Renaissance period and the study also includes works on this period known as archaic times. From the start of humanity, the perception of art developed and shaped the first figures drawn on the walls of the cave, and thus the beginning of the artistic depiction of nature was observed. From the Archaic period to the Renaissance, the development of art of painting and its subjective relationship with nature are observed. Due to the fact that the art of painting has emerged long before photography, nature has long been influenced by the individual thoughts of the artists. In today's art, which is the last part of the study, it is seen that everything is related to technology, and our living space is also shaped by technology. Throughout history, technology has provided new tools for artists to express themselves, but nowadays it is an undeniable fact that technology is a fundamental force in the development and evolution of art. Not only changes in technology, but also changes in nature have led to changes in people's way of expression and perception of nature. With this survey, it is seen that nature has always been a part of the art from the first examples to the present and has continued to exist as an inspiration to the artists. However, when all the technological interventions are eliminated, artists who reflects nature with traditional methods aim to remind that nature is damaged and is about to be lost.
