Rendi in classical Turkish poetry

The rind type, in which he lived in an indifferent attitude to social rules and the world, was reflected as a type idealized by divan poets and became one of the most important subjects of the ritual divan poetry. In this study, we tried to explain the properties of rind type by making use of Ahmed Paşa, Necâtî, Fuzûlî, Bâkî, Şeyh Gâlip, Fehîm and Nedîm divans. Rinds, wine, taverns and lovers have always heeded but ignored religious and social norms. Divan poets made statements about the rindâne views, rint type, rint-zâhid conflict. This has given classical poetry a different beauty and vitality. With the attitudes of the zâhid, who do not lose their free and rebellious positions in the face of fanaticism, and do not care about any prohibitions and pressures, rinds have become the type that attracts the most attention and social reaction of the society they live in. The rinds liberated away from all the norms that confine themselves have ignored the zâhids warning to them. Because they lived a life far away from the world and the worst of the Hereafter, they did not pursue any interest in the world and the Hereafter, and they did not bow to anyone. Their attitude has led them to react to critical-minded hypocritical people and to engage in a critical attitude. Since the poets regarded it as the fate of the ritual, they regarded this criticism as a praiseworthy instrument that the community despised. Rinds who opposed all traditions and customs that forced people to act hypocritically put their attitude toward love and drunkenness and continued to walk on their own paths without leaving the happiness of living the moment. The rituals and freedom both of which have a negative attitude to Shari'a's rules and practices, have been seen as the only way of life without mercy and worry. The poets have been able to make social criticism through a philosophy of life and a ritual called rithe, especially through the rind-zâhid conflict. Key Words: rind, zâhid, wine, hypocrisy, ginmill.
