Abstract (EN)

Air Handling Units (AHU) are an air conditioner systems that consume energy too much. Making optimisation working for AHU is essential situation because energy efficiency is quite important todays. Using energy efficiently is very significant due to consumption energy resource and environmental pollution. In this study, the flow analysis and pressure dropped optimisation in perforated diffuser AHU element using by some AHU manufacturer were carried out. Cabin of the unit and diffuser were computed pressure drop with numerical and experimental and they were compared. Moreover a pattern diffuser was designed and it was made optimisation with proper geometric and flow parameter. Conclusion of studying, how much energy gain was computed with optimum diffuser and flow properties. In this way objective energy gain was achieved. For using diffuser itself shorten unit lenght initial investment cost is economic. Besides pressure dropped were reduced with using optimum diffuser and economic was provided for operating costs. In this thesis, for numerical studying, ANSYS-Fluent 14.5 packaged software what frequently used in practice as a software of the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) was used. k-ε turbulence model was choosen for numerical flow analysis. Turbulent model was validated experimentally. Also for optimisation method, Taguchi Optimisation method was used. With this method, a lot of essential analysis were reduced. In this study, designed perforated diffuser was observed providing energy gain at certain flow velocity. This diffuser what designed for AHU manufacturer will be usefull how it provides energy efficiency KEYWORDS: Energy Efficiency, perforated diffuser, CFD, Taguchi Optimisation Method,
