Abstract (EN)

Tonsillectomy and/or adenoidectomy is one of the most common perfomed surgery of the ear, nose, throat surgery. Considered the morbidity and mortality, this is the major surgery. Complications that is connected to related surgery have decreased with advancing technology and techniques. However loss of blood is the major cause of mortality and morbidity. According to studies, the incidence of hemorrage have found in different proportions. % 0 -10 rate of hemorrhage have been reported. In our clinic between January 2001 and December 2011, 23 of 995 patients who were exposed to tonsillectomy and/or adenoidectomy were bleeding. The incidence of hemorrage was % 2,3. Hemorrage incidence for cold dissection technique was % 19(17/ 891), while the incidence of hemmorhage for hot dissection was % 5,7( 6/104).
