Özet (EN)

In this study, 60 whole blood and serum samples were tested for the identification of epstein-barr virus from clinical samples. Patients aged 18 to 80 years from specimens developed symptoms and signs of severe mononucleosis infection. In plasma samples taken, Epstein - Barr virus tested positive for VCA-IgM, Immunoglobulin and EBNA IgG, while serological parameters for VCA-IgG positive, EBNA-IgG and negative VCA-IgM emerged in trials approximately nine months later. In these trials, it was decided to use the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to find EBV-DNA. The serotype persisted during EBV reactivation with a PCR amplified (limit of detection) specific fraction of EBV gp220 DNA (100 viral copies). PCR gave positive results in all whole blood samples. The results obtained were evaluated by performing statistical analysis and a correlation was found between the two Kappa parameters (p <0.001). The EBV DNA diagnosis in all samples is based on disease symptoms. Future research may point to the use of EBV DNA to determine the mutation type of virus genes in real-time PCR.
