This study aims at investigation of ophiolite units and contribution of geodynamic evolution in Kınık Village (Kütahya) and its surrounding, and the study area, which is located at northwest of Kütahya is placed between Torid Zone at south and Izmir - Ankara Suture Zone at west. The rocks in the study area consist of four units. Ophiolitic melange thrusted on the Çokköy and Beke Formations. The main rocks of the ophiolitic melange are pelagic deposit, basic rocks and serpantinites. Peridotites that are located at the base of the ophiolitic unit altered to serpentinites including jointed and fractured structure and a dense uralitization and listvenitization. Peridotites overlap on ophiolitic melange with tectonic boundary. Gabbros exhibite in wide expension in east of Kınık are seen as a sequence with layer and have a cumulative texture. Diabase dykes truncate the gabbros and partly underwent to hydrothermal alteration. Serpentinization, listvenitization, laterization have been observed in the ultrabasic rocks. However, In all basic rocks, damuritation, uralitation, chloritization, epidotazation and carbonation have been observed. . Petrological features of the ophiolitic rocks show that the ultramafic and mafic rocks belong to a co-magmatic differentiated tholeiite series. They are enriched in some LIL elements (Rb, Ba, K and Sr) and depleted in HFS elements (Nb, Ti, Y) relative to N-MORB. The presence of positive Th and LIL anomalies and a negative Nb anomaly, relative to the other incompatible elements, are thought to represent a subduction zone component. Tectonomagmatic discrimination diagrams based on the immobile trace elements suggest a suprasubduction zone environment for the origin of the this rocks. The results of the chemical analysis of serpentinite shows that in some samples some oxides values difference from compositions of the rock. CaO has high values in some samples because of the carbonate minerals that widely found in the rocks. It is determined that A2O3 values which show high range in some serpantinites resulted from the chlorite minerals . It was found that the rocks of Kınık Ophiolite derived from Island arc-tholeitic (IAT) magma and is thought to be back-arc stage composed of SSZ ophiolites as a result of land observations and geochemical analyses.
