Abstract (EN)

There is no questionnaire to assess the impact and severity of chronic cough in patients with COPD in Turkey. For this reason, we want to validate the Turkish version of Leicester Cough Questionnaire (LCQ) in COPD patients with chronic cough. 71 male, 4 female, total 75 COPD patients (GOLD B,C,D,) with chronic cough who had been followed at Celal Bayar University Medical Faculty Chest Disease Department and 75 control group were included into the study. Mean age of patients was 62,32 ± 7,8 years. For internal consistency, cronbach alpha coefficients of all subscales ranged between 0,72-0,86 and calculated as 0,89 for total index. In test-retest reliabilty, the correlation coefficient ranged between 0,609-0,783 for each question and calculated as r=0,885 for total LCQ score. For validity analysis, relationship between LCQ scores and SF-36 and WHOQOL-BREF-TR scores were searched and a strong statistical correlation was found (p<0,05). As a result, Turkish version of LCQ has been found to have accepable reliability and validty for COPD patients with chronic cough
