Kocaeli press history (1847-2017)

Because of its proximity to Istanbul in terms of its location in Kocaeli province and the fact that its hinterland is developed, it has met with printing house earlier than others. The press, started to be actively used by minorities in 1847, was taken on a state monopoly because it was used for propaganda towards the end of the 19 th century. The press, in the state monopoly, has begun to acquire national characteristics with the published newspaper "Kocaeli Gazetesi" There was a positive correlation between the national press, which was initiated with deil by Kocaeli Gazetesi, the declaration of the Republic and development of Kocaeli city the fact that Kocaeli is an industrial city and it has lots of immigrants from various locations has caused the press to have multi-works in terms of right to speak. In this study, the features and functions of Kocaeli Press have been detected by numarical values.
